Multi-Currency Travel Card

Multi-Currency Travel Card allows you to load funds from your Current or Savings QAR accounts onto multiple foreign currency wallets at QNB’s competitive exchange rates – all wallets being accessible through a single virtual card instantly via QNB Mobile app.

• Local currency: QAR

• Foreign currencies: USD, EUR, GBP, CHF, AED

• Each currency will have its own wallet where funds are stored.

Any existing QNB customer with Current or Savings accounts, registered in QNB Mobile Banking.

Instantly from QNB Mobile Banking app, by selecting ‘Multi-Currency Travel Card’ from ‘Cards’ section.

Your QAR wallet is now successfully loaded, and ready for transfer to another available foreign currency wallet by selecting ‘Transfer between Wallets’ and inputting your desired ‘Wallet Transfer Amount’.

If you wish to transfer between two foreign currency wallets (for example between EUR and GBP):

• Transfer first from EUR to QAR and then from QAR to GBP

• Then follow the same process as “how to transfer between the currencies”.

Pay using digital wallet

Provision the card to Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay from the dedicated section in QNB Mobile Banking app to add the card in your digital wallet.

Pay online

Access your QNB Multi-Currency Travel Card from QNB Mobile Banking app and select ‘View Card Details’ and input the OTP prompted on your registered mobile to view accordingly and use for your online purchases.

How to pay in-store

Unlock your phone and/or double press the Apple Pay button.

To make contactless payments, make sure your phone meets the following requirements:

• For Apple devices: make sure to update the iOS/iPad OS to the latest firmware version

• For Android devices: make sure Android is updated to the latest firmware version, NFC is turned on, and Google Pay or Samsung Pay is set as default payment option

• Make sure you have done wallet transfer to the currency you are transacting from your QAR wallet.

For transactions performed in the available foreign currencies, you will spend exactly the amount available in the respective wallet with 0 mark-up:

• For example, if the EUR wallet has a balance of EUR 100 and you perform a transaction of EUR 80, then exactly EUR 80 are deducted from your EUR wallet. In this case, no extra mark-up is considered.

• For transactions performed in other foreign currencies than the available ones, the QAR wallet is charged and a mark-up will be included according to the QNB Tariff of Charges.

With the Multi-Currency Travel Card, you can exchange between the QAR wallet and foreign currency wallets at QNB’s transparent exchange rates:

• Chose to lock-in your desired exchange rate at any time and then spend in the available foreign currencies whenever you choose.

• Whereas, in credit card/prepaid cards, transactions done in foreign currencies will usually incur a mark-up or foreign currency conversion fee and you cannot control the exchange rate.
