QNB organizes activities during Qatar Sustainability Week

Doha, 5 November 2019 - QNB, the leading financial institution in the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia, organized a number of events and activities during Qatar Sustainability Week 2019 as part of the Group-wide sustainability programme.

Over the course of the week, QNB raised awareness among its employees and customers of the importance of growing environmental challenges, and promoted actions to reduce their impact.

In addition, a presentation on electric and hybrid vehicles by Porsche was held to coincide with QNB staff test-drives of the Porsche Panamera plug-in hybrid and Lexus RX450H. The aim was to encourage employees to consider low emission vehicles for a more sustainable future and mark the start of QNB installing electric vehicle charge points at its premises and selected branches.

QNB expanded its recycling initiative with 90 new recycling bins in its various offices and branches and eliminated single-use plastic straws and cutlery from its cafeteria’s. Replacing them with recyclable options from a local Qatari firm.

In addition, the Bank provided healthy meals to its employees provided by Raw Me, which specializes in healthy foods that are entirely natural and plant-based and giveaway reusable water bottles to limit the use of plastic water bottles.

To engage customers on the topic of sustainability QNB organized a competition across various social media platforms with the participation of its customers aimed at providing them with the necessary information on the importance of recycling waste in Qatar.
