QNB Sponsors final Round of Founder’s Camel Festival Competitions

Doha, 27 December 2017 - QNB, the largest financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, has announced its sponsorship of the concluding round of the Founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani’s Camel Festival for local pure Arabian camels race 2017-2018 season held at Al Shahaniya Racetrack.

QNB’s sponsorship of this year's edition of the festival, one of the most important events on the agenda of heritage camel racing sport in Qatar, affirms the bank’s ongoing efforts to support this event, which contributes to supporting and promoting the sport of the fathers and founders of the nation.

The bank, which has been the sponsor of this important festival since its first edition, will offer the new Lamborghini to the first place winner in the last round of the competition.

Among the most popular sports in the country, camel racing is part of the rich heritage of the Arab region, historically known for its attachment to camels, which are of social and economic value in the region. Camel racing is also a significant symbol of Qatar’s cultural heritage and diverse history.

This year’s edition of the Festival brings together camels of Sheikhs and sons of the tribes, who compete for the first time in the competition’s 345 rounds.
