QNB announced its sponsorship of the African Development Bank Group Annual Meetings hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt represented by the Central Bank of Egypt in Sharm El Sheikh from 22nd to 26th of May under the theme of Mobilizing Private Sector Financing for Climate and Green Growth in Africa. It provides a framework for Bank Group Governors to share their experiences with galvanizing private financing domestically and internationally and harnessing natural capital to bridge the climate financing gap and promote the transition to green growth in Africa. QNB participation complements COP27's efforts in supporting Sustainable Finance and the transition to a Green Economy
QNB's sponsorship of the "African Development Bank Group Annual Meetings" comes as an affirmation of the Bank's active participation in adopting all ideas, efforts and plans that contribute to enhancing cooperation among all participants in enriching the support for the climate and environment file due to our urgent need as an Arab, African and global community in order to preserve natural resources and the rights of current and future generations from the repercussions of emissions that threaten the lives of families and communities and look forward to increasing development efforts in the African continent.
Eighty-one governors from the regional and non-regional member states of the African Development Bank Group are scheduled to participate in the annual meetings, and the event witnesses the presence of central bank governors, finance ministers, senior officials from the private sector and several academics and development partners, with the number of attendees expected to reach about 4,000 participants.
